Artist's Description
Beavertail Lighthouse is the premier lighthouse in Rhode Island, USA, located on Jamestown Island at the mouth of Narragansett Bay on the Atlantic Ocean. This digital painting from an original photograph depicts the rocky coastline and lighthouse tower against colorful surreal sky and clouds. The Beavertail Lighthouse, previously know as Newport Light or watch house dates back to the early 1700's. The current granite tower which is 10' square and 64' high (from ground to beacon) was erected in 1856. The Beavertail lighthouse is still a working lighthouse, and is located at the Beavertail State Park and is part of the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum on the southern tip of Jamestown Island.
About J Michael Nettik
